Meet Melissa Sloan, a 46-year-old British mom who has over 800 tattoos, many of them on her face. She is a self-proclaimed tattoo addict and has been working on her extreme look for about 10 years. Sloan gets around three tattoos a week, either at home or in her van. However, her unique appearance has come at a cost – she has had difficulty finding a job and has faced some social challenges.

Sloan recently decided to cover up her tattoos for a viral photograph, and the result was truly surprising. She looked so different that she was almost unrecognizable. Sadly, her children and dogs were not happy with her new look. Her youngest child, in particular, was scared and wanted her mom to go back to the way she was.

Despite the negative reactions, Sloan wanted to challenge herself and decided to try the look again, this time keeping her children at a distance. But once again, her children didn’t react well, and it was clear that they preferred her with her tattoos. Sloan acknowledges the different point of view and mentions that people have complimented her on her look before. However, she prefers her crazy and heavily tattooed appearance.

While Sloan enjoys her unique style, she acknowledges that it has had consequences. She has struggled to find employment and has faced social exclusion. She applied for a job cleaning toilets but was rejected because of her tattoos. Sloan has had one cleaning job in the past, but it didn’t last long. Despite the challenges, she remains open to the idea of working if given the opportunity.

She believes that people who judge others based on their tattoos are narrow-minded and fail to see the person behind the ink.
