Meghan Markle’s Decision Amidst Professional ‘Separation’ from Prince Harry

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had hoped for a care-free life in sunny California after leaving Britain behind, but things haven’t turned out as expected. The couple faced various challenges, including difficulties in making friends and Harry’s feelings of nostalgia for his old life and friends back in his homeland.

According to royal expert Tom Quinn, Harry has been searching for a house in Britain to have a place to stay when visiting his family, with whom he’s had strained relations since stepping down from his royal duties. However, due to Meghan’s concerns about the safety of their children in Britain, the possibility of the whole family visiting is still being discussed.

A source close to the Sussexes revealed that Meghan has decided not to accompany Harry to Britain for the Invictus Games celebration due to safety concerns. It has reached a point where she doesn’t feel safe in the UK with the children. The question now is whether the family should attend with increased security or if Harry should go alone.

Last year, Harry disputed the Home Office’s decision to cut his security protection while he was in the UK. After leaving royal life, his offer to pay for his own security was also rejected. These events resulted in Harry and Meghan feeling forced to step back from their royal roles and leave the country in 2020.

Harry’s statement, read by his lawyer Shaheed Fatima KC, expressed his sadness over having to leave the UK. He emphasized that the UK is his home and the heritage of his children, and he wants them to feel at home in the UK as much as in the US. However, the safety of his wife and children is his top priority, and he does not want to put them in danger.

Despite their separation from the royal family, Harry and Meghan have maintained close relationships with certain members of the Firm, including Princess Eugenie. In fact, they recently purchased a residence in Portugal, close to Princess Eugenie’s location, which could be seen as a gesture of goodwill and a step towards rebuilding relationships with King Charles and Prince William.

However, rumors have emerged suggesting that Harry and Meghan’s marriage may be facing challenges. Meghan is reportedly worried that the royal family may manipulate Harry into returning to his royal duties. She is deeply concerned and hopes that if it is safe from a security standpoint, she will give her blessing for Harry to take their children to see their grandpa, King Charles.

Both Harry and Meghan have been engaged in individual projects lately, which has affected Meghan emotionally due to the ongoing rumors surrounding their marriage. The scrutiny and criticism she receives bring back hurtful memories from her time as a royal. PR expert Ed Coram James suggests that working on separate projects may help build a more positive image of themselves as individuals.

From a PR perspective, the combined Sussexes brand has become toxic, but there is a possibility for them to create separate brands that reflect their different priorities and resonate with their audiences. This may lead to the eventual reunification of their brands and the creation of a new and successful combined brand.

Renae Smith, founder and director of PR firm Atticism, believes that pursuing individual brands could work in their favor in the long run, but it may also negatively affect their relationship.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have acknowledged that they are at a crossroads in their professional endeavors. While Meghan attended a Thanksgiving event focusing on supporting Afghan women resettled in the US, Harry was in Canada for events related to the Invictus Games. The couple plans to attend the Invictus Games together in February 2025, and it will be a rare public appearance of their young children.
