After their divorce, things turned messy, leading to legal battles over their finances, their children, and the ownership of their magnificent $10.4 million Montana ranch.
The Ranch Battle
The sprawling estate, complete with rustic log cabins, lush pastures, and breathtaking mountain views, was a prized possession for both Clarkson and Blackstock. However, a judge ruled in favor of Clarkson, citing her prenuptial agreement as the deciding factor. Despite the court’s ruling, Blackstock was reluctant to leave. He stayed on the property, claiming that he needed time to relocate his burgeoning ranching business. He eventually vacated in June 2022 after paying $12,500 in monthly rent.
Moving Forward
Clarkson was awarded primary physical custody of their two children and has since relocated to New York City. In 2023, Blackstock was ordered to pay Clarkson $2,641,374 for overstepping in his managerial role and unlawfully procuring deals. Clarkson, reflecting on the divorce process, said, “I wanted to make it beautiful. I wanted to make it awesome. I wanted to make it everything it possibly could be, and sometimes that just doesn’t happen.”
Blackstock’s New Venture
Blackstock has embraced the cowboy life in Montana. He founded Valley View Rodeo in 2023, an organization dedicated to preserving the western lifestyle in the modern age. Interestingly, his executive assistant, Brittany Jones, who previously worked with Clarkson, joined him in his new venture. She now manages the office and administration work for Blackstock’s cattle operation while also taking on personal assistant duties.
