Horrified Woman Finds Dog Covered in Odd Marks, Rushes to Vet for Answers

In a world where some people should never be near animals, a heartbreaking incident unfolded. Hayden Howard, an animal lover, discovered something deeply disturbing about her dog, Jackson.

One day, while Jackson was playing in the backyard, Hayden noticed what she initially thought were insect bites covering his body. But upon closer inspection, she was horrified to realize the truth – Jackson was covered in bullet holes.

“I was completely shocked, I didn’t know what to think,” Hayden shared with WXIN. Determined to find answers and help her beloved pet, she wasted no time taking Jackson to the vet. The vet’s examination revealed an alarming truth – Jackson had been shot with tiny bullets from a BB gun.

To Hayden’s dismay, the vet discovered that there were 27 bullets lodged in Jackson’s body. Needing to remove them, the vet had to shave almost all of Jackson’s fur. Unfortunately, 20 bullets had to be left inside, as they were too dangerous to extract. Shockingly, the vet also detected an additional 20 bullet holes on Jackson’s small frame. He had endured over 70 shots in total.

Assistant Chief Craig Hayes of the Seymour Police Department expressed his disbelief, stating, “I have never seen an animal shot that many times. It’s a very bad case, and it’s sad to see.” The authorities quickly identified a suspect in a neighboring yard and discovered both bullets and a gun hidden inside the suspect’s home. In addition, they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The person responsible for this heinous act should face severe consequences. They should receive a substantial prison sentence and be banned from ever being near an animal again. Animal abusers must be held accountable for their actions.

Despite his traumatic experience, Jackson is on the road to recovery, thanks to Hayden’s care and the vet’s efforts. He is slowly regaining his health and will hopefully be able to enjoy playing in the backyard once more.
