Last year, Celine Dion’s fans received some unsettling news when the chart-topping icon disclosed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological illness, which necessitated taking a break from performing. However, since then, she has released her first new song, and fans have been thrilled with it. Despite not being able to witness her live performances for the time being, the pop sensation’s admirers can still look forward to new recordings from her.

Celine Dion’s latest single, “Love Again,” which serves as the theme song for the upcoming May 15 movie of the same title, has just been given an official lyric video. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film, which features Dion in her debut acting role, also stars Sam Heughan and Priyanka Chopra Jones.

In addition to the title track, the movie’s soundtrack, set for release on May 12, will also feature six of Dion’s timeless hits, such as “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

Undoubtedly, fans will be eagerly anticipating hearing all of Dion’s songs for this new movie, as many of her biggest hits have been featured on soundtracks, such as “Beauty and the Beast,” “Because You Loved Me” (from Up Close and Personal), and of course, “My Heart Will Go On” (from Titanic).

Enthusiasm for this new song is high among fans, as it is the first piece of new music that Dion has released in English since her 2019 album, Courage, and the first since she announced a severe medical diagnosis last year. Dion disclosed that she had been diagnosed with a rare degenerative nervous system disorder called stiff-person syndrome, which can lead to excruciating spasms and restricted mobility, in a touching video she shared with her followers on Instagram. Although the illness is incurable, symptoms can be managed.

“I’ve always been an open book, and I wasn’t ready to say anything before, but I’m ready now,” Dion commented.

Dion’s struggles with muscle spasms, which prompted her to postpone her North American tour dates in January, were already known to her fans. However, this is the first time she has revealed the underlying diagnosis.

In her statement, the singer stated that “We now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms I’ve been having, even though we’re still learning about this unusual ailment. Unfortunately, these spasms interfere with every aspect of my daily life, occasionally making it difficult to walk and preventing me from using my vocal cords to sing as I normally would.”

Despite devastating news for her fans worldwide and being challenging for Dion, she expressed optimism that with time and additional treatments, she might regain her voice and resume performing. “Every day, I put in a lot of effort with my sports medicine therapist to regain my strength and performance capacity. However, I must say that it has been difficult,” Dion said. “My precious kids are supporting me and giving me hope, and I have a great team of doctors working with me to help me get better.”
