When Patricia Clarke, a 24-year-old woman, discovered she was pregnant in 1983, she had a hunch that her baby would be on the larger side. With a family history of big babies, Patricia had a feeling she was in for something extraordinary. Little did she know just how massive her baby would be.
On that eventful day, Patricia gave birth to Kevin Robert Clark, who astoundingly weighed over 16 pounds. Not only was he the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital, but he may have been the biggest baby in all of New Jersey at the time. Kevin was too big for a standard crib and his clothes were too small, but his parents were relieved to find out that he was perfectly healthy.
Kevin’s size quickly caught the attention of the nation. He made headlines across the country, even earning a mention on popular shows like “Saturday Night Live” and “Good Morning America.” It was clear that Kevin was destined for the spotlight.
And the attention didn’t stop there. As Kevin grew older, he continued to surpass expectations. By the age of 12, he stood at an impressive 5 feet 7 inches tall. In junior high, he reached a towering height of 6 feet 5 inches. And he didn’t stop there.
Kevin, now 35 years old, stands at an incredible height of 6 feet 9 inches. His height has become such a prominent characteristic that he is often asked about it. But Kevin has learned to embrace it with humor and grace.
“There isn’t a day that goes by when someone doesn’t ask me how tall I am,” Kevin shared. “I like to joke that I’m 5-foot-21. When people ask if I play basketball, I ask them if they play miniature golf.”
Despite being born into the limelight and enduring constant questions about his size, Kevin has managed to navigate life with a positive attitude. He is a former military man who now lives with his 6-foot tall wife and their Great Dane.
We applaud Kevin for his resilience and wish him all the best in the future. It can’t be easy to stand out in a crowd, but he has managed to do so brilliantly.
