Life in the White House was undoubtedly challenging for Malia and Sasha Obama, as they faced constant scrutiny while just wanting to have some fun. The two daughters of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama captured the world’s attention from 2009 to 2017 while residing at the iconic 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW.
Michelle Obama described the pressure they faced in an interview, saying that the girls had to navigate the unwanted attention with grace and maintain their independence. In 2016, Malia graduated from high school and took a gap year before attending Harvard University, where she recently graduated. In 2024, Malia made her debut as a filmmaker at the Sundance Film Festival with her short film Heart.
Known for her infectious energy and sense of humor, Sasha embarked on her own journey after high school. She began her studies at the University of Michigan, completing her undergraduate degree in sociology at the University of Southern California in 2023. Currently, Malia and Sasha live together in Los Angeles, finding solace and comfort in each other’s company.
Despite the pressures that come with their family’s fame, Malia and Sasha know how to let loose and enjoy themselves. Recently, they were seen partying with Canadian rapper Drake at a popular club in Los Angeles. Both sisters were dressed in fashionable and daring outfits, perfectly suited for the occasion. Sasha rocked a black cropped corset with slouchy cargo pants, while Malia embraced a sheer lace-up top paired with high-waisted printed trousers.
The Obamas and Drake share a mutual admiration. In the past, Drake has expressed interest in playing Barack Obama in a biopic, and the former president has shown his approval. Their fun night out together attests to the bond they share as well as their ability to enjoy life beyond the spotlight.
