Royal Family loses close friend

The royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are deeply saddened by the passing of their close friend, Peter Morris. Morris, a 47-year-old father of two and the owner of Little Dragon Pizza, lost his battle with cancer, leaving behind a grieving wife and family.

The Prince and Princess of Wales first met Morris in 2023 during a visit to Dowlais Rugby Club in Merthyr Tydfil. They had ordered 12 pizzas from his shop for the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team. This encounter would mark the beginning of a special friendship between the royals and Morris.

Upon hearing the news of Morris’ passing, Prince William and Kate sent a heartfelt letter to his wife Tracey, expressing their deepest condolences. “We can only begin to imagine what an immense hole he will leave in your life, and my heart goes out to you and your family,” the letter read.

Morris had battled and conquered oesophageal cancer in the past, but unfortunately, he was later diagnosed with adrenal gland and liver cancer. The news of his second diagnosis came only four months after meeting the royal couple. The letter from Kensington Palace, which was read at Morris’ funeral, emphasized his dedication to the community and the impact he had on so many people.

The response from the community following Morris’ passing was overwhelming. The social media account of his business shared the news, and the outpouring of love and support was a testament to the greatness of this man. The royals’ letter, acknowledging and validating Morris’ contribution to the community, stands as a tribute to his memory.

As we remember Peter Morris, let us cherish the friendships we have and the impact we can have on others’ lives. May he rest in peace and may his family find solace in the love and support surrounding them during this difficult time.
